We are at the end of 2020 and it has been an intense year. No matter how you feel about 2020, take some time and give thanks for another year of life. Don’t forget to reward yourself for making it through this year. Here are ten free daily pleasures to give yourself as you ease into 2021!

10 Free Daily Pleasures 

Un-interrupted Silence to spend alone, however you want! To make the most of your silence, make sure you are free from distractions like other people, your phone, computer, social media, TV, radio, etc.  Feel free to daydream, write, think, stare outside your window, be in nature, people-watch, read or just do nothing but be still.  Whatever you like, as long as you enjoy the silence and relax, that is all that counts!

Mindfulness /meditation.  Just five minutes of mindfulness per day can do wonders to relieve stress, improve immune function and lower anxiety levels.  All you need to do is sit still comfortably, breath and observe your thoughts.

Stretching.  No yoga mat necessary! Simple and safe stretching for five minutes a day can increase blood flow, flexibility, reduce stress and improve posture. Find a daily stretching routine that fits your helath and lifestyle.

Yawning.  Yawning gets an unfair, bad rap. People often take it as a sign of boredom or rudeness, but yawning has some serious health benefits! Yawning cools your brain down which can help lower stress levels. Yawning also increases blood circulation and alertness.

Deep breathing.  Breathing properly detoxifies and releases toxins from your body, not to mention clears uneasy feelings from your mind and body. 

Temple and forehead massage.

Scalp massage.

Foot massage.

Self-pleasure.  No partner? No problem! Use some un-interrupted “me time” to explore and arouse your sensual side.

Nap.  Put on a pretty satin eye mask, relax and catch some much-needed zzz’s. Bonus points if you take a mid-day nap!
