10 Empowering Ways to Enjoy Solitude at Home

So often, when we decide to spend time alone and enjoy our own company, we feel like if we do not spend a ton of money then the alone time is not meaningful. Alone time does not have to be expensive or time-consuming, only if you decide for it to be so. Solitude is just yourself and is not a bad thing. Solitude is how we re-charge and makes our time around others much more enjoyable. Check out these ideas!

  1. Spend a day with just yourself, in silence. No talking, no making or answering phone calls, just enjoy the silence of your home and spend it however you like.
  2. Eat a simple, tasty meal alone slowly and silently, while savoring every single bite. It can be as simple as a salad and pizza or making your favorite meal .
  3. A luxurious nap.   A satin eye mask, clean, comfortable sheets and a distraction-free, dark, cool room create the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing, fulfilling rest.
  4. An at-home pamper day.   Your pamper day can be as lavish or as minimal as you choose! Get out your pampering products and indulge in a relaxing bath or soak.
  5. Journal. There is something so freeing about releasing your innermost thoughts on paper, unafraid to say what you think and feel, without censoring yourself for fear of what someone else may read, think or sayabout your thoughts/feelings.
  6. Be nude. After a shower or soak, mindfully moisturize your skin and admire your body from head to toe in the mirror. Cover up in your favorite robe as you move about the house or just get under the covers and sleep in the nude.
  7. Dance like no one is watching.  Be as sensuous or as silly as you like! There is something so powerful about feeling your body move and observing just how powerful your physical body truly is!
  8. Meditate.
  9. Self-pleasure.
  10. Enjoy a hobby without judgement. Read, sing, dance, draw/color, play an instrument or learn a new skill, without judgment
