I recently went shopping to buy some new beauty treats for the fall. Little did I know, this ordinary shopping trip would leave me with a lasting reminder I plan to carry throughout the rest of 2026. Along with my amazing purchases and some helpful skincare and makeup tips from a global beauty pro (huge shout-out to Jo-Anthony of Tom Ford Beauty and his entire team!), the overall message I took from our lovely exchange was to “stop waiting for permission and live now.”
This reminder often shows up when we get dressed. We see clothing and accessories that remain unworn in our closet, because we are waiting for the “right” occasion, event or reason to wear them. So many of us are “waiting for permission” for the “right” time to dress up, feel pretty or even make a move towards what we want but what we don’t realize is that the time is now.
Wear the perfume, rock the bold lip color, carry your designer bag, put on the more polished outfit, even for a casual outing, as long as you can comfortably move and enjoy yourself. Book the trip, wear the designer shoes still sitting in the box, make the call, try the restaurant, take the first step towards what you value and who you want to become. Give yourself permission to live with intention and stay true to who you are and aspire to become. And most of all, enjoy your life. We only get one.
