“Toss and Refresh” Every Season/ 90 Days/3 Months

Every three months (Every three months = 4 times a year = once per season) you should take inventory of the following:

Undergarments/Lingerie

Makeup products and tools

Bath and Body products

Contact lenses and solution

Skin-care products

Hair-care products

Nail-care items and tools

This routine maintains your hygiene, eliminates waste and de- clutters.  It can also be done prior to a new season in order to refresh your look or switch beauty products, as our skin and hair sometimes require different products, depending on the seasonal weather.

 “Clean, Toss and Refresh” Routine

CLEAN your existing WORKING tools/items.

TOSS anything you no longer use or that is expired.

REFRESH the tossed items with a new item that fulfills your needs.  Write a shopping list, then set a date to shop for your new items.

On the day of your Clean, Toss and Refresh routine, you can start by doing the following:

CLEAN ALL MAKEUP BRUSHES that are in working condition.

HAND-WASH and AIR DRY all delicate undergarments that are in flattering condition. Or MACHINE WASH ACCORDING to clothing guidelines.

UNDERGARMENTS: Toss anything that is unflattering, worn-out and/or does not fit properly (shapewear that no longer flatters, anything too tight or too loose, etc.).

BEAUTY/BATH/MAKEUP: Toss mascara, eyeliner and liquid liner, especially any makeup that smells bad or has separated, discolored and/or changed consistency. Replace with an organic mascara that is better for your eyes and the environment.

NAIL/MANICURE: (nail polish, polish remover, cotton rounds, toe separators, files, tools, etc.)

BATH TOOLS:  (exfoliating gloves, exfoliating brush or cloth, facial cleansing sponges, etc.)

GLASSES/CONTACT LENSES/LENS SOLUTION:  Get glasses adjusted and tightened for proper fit. Buy new contact lens cases and solution. Always have additional unopened, brand new contact lens cases to use on hand. To keep your lenses bacteria-free, every time you open a new pair of contact lenses, they should go into a brand new, clean case filled with fresh solution. Remember contact lens start expiring the day you OPEN a new pair, not the first day you wear them! So do not open a pair unless you are ready to wear them the same day! As a soft-contact lens-wearer since high school, I live by these steps! Or try Hubble Contacts, a line of one-time wear, soft contact lenses and get a 30-month supply! https://hubblecontacts.com/

Please note: Follow your city’s environmental safety guidelines on correctly disposing these items (the environment will thank you).
